Voces de la Frontera Action is looking for passionate, enthusiastic people to help elect progressive politicans and mobilize voters for the 2010 General Election!

Below are a few of our new job openings:

*Voces de la Frontera Action – Field Organizer*

Field Organizers are the heart of our operation. Our core mission is to talk to people about critical issues, and Field Organizers are the ones having the conversations. We need outgoing, bright, and articulate individuals to go door-to-door and talk about issues like health care, the environment and jobs. No fundraising! Positions are full time, and normal shifts run from 2:30pm to 9:00pm. Part time positions may be negotiable. Bilingual speakers preferred.

*Voces de la Frontera Action – Team Leader*

Team Leaders are a key link in our program, ensuring the success of our canvassing operations at the ground level. Team Leaders recruit and hire Field Organizers, provide daily briefings to canvassers, run daily canvass walk lists, coordinate palm pilot syncs, and supervise and manage a Planned Parenthood Advocates’ voter contact canvass team.

Qualifications include the ability to motivate a team of hardworking canvassers, solve problems on the run and stay organized and comfortable within a high pressure, fast-paced environment. Must be willing to work long hours, including evenings and weekends. Access to a vehicle with proper insurance documentation is necessary. Bilingual speakers preferred.

*Voces de la Frontera Action- Phone Banking Organizer*

We are hiring Phone Banking Organizers who will have important phone conversations with voters on progressive issues surrounding the upcoming 2010 election. Phone bank hours are typically 4-8pm M-TH and 12-8pm on weekends. Full and part time positions are available. Bilingual speakers preferred.

*Bilingual Election Inspectors*

Election Inspectors play a vital role at voting sites. They work directly with voters and assist them in any of the following capacities:

Check-in registered voters and provide the voters with a ballot and voter number.
Register qualified individuals to vote who are new voters or have an address or name change.
Handle the voting machine to verify ballots are accepted and give out “I Voted” stickers.
Election Inspectors are paid $100 for a full-day shift and are required to attend one paid training class ($15). To receive training class payment, you are required to work on Election Day. Lunch and dinner breaks are allowed for full-day shift workers. A full-day shift is 6:30 a.m. to close of the voting site.
